“House Of Horrors” Dentist Quits Over Medical Malpractice Lawsuits

Posted on June 12, 2015 by Shapiro Law Group

Last week, we informed our readers about a truly horrific case of medical malpractice involving a Florida dentist. Local media had dubbed the dentist’s office a “House of Horrors”, in which dangerous and unnecessary procedures were performed on young children, sometimes without anesthesia.

The dentist recently quit his practice and surrendered his medical license in light of facing several dental malpractice lawsuits and protests from angry parents. More than 60 former patients have filed lawsuits against the former dentist.

While undergoing procedures at the dentist’s office, children were assaulted and psychologically scarred. Allegations against the dentist claim he would wear scary costumes and dish out death threats to innocent children.

According to complaints filed against the dentist, he was the only office in the area that accepted Medicaid, and thus attracted poorer clients. The dentist reportedly billed Medicaid for more than $4 million in reimbursements.

Why Should Parents File Medical Malpractice Lawsuits?

Children and their parents should have the expectation that health care professionals act in a manner that promotes trust. When health care professionals act in a way that is negligent or willfully harmful, parents and family members might have options for pursuing damages.

Contacting a medical malpractice attorney can help family members explore all available options for pursuing justice.
